Parking

During arena events, city lots at Minto/Brady, Shaughnessy/Brady, Tom Davies Square (underground) and Elgin St charge an event rate. The Beech St, Energy Court and Larch St lots and metered street spots are free on weekends and after 6 p.m. ($5 at city event lots; free options nearby CAD)

Getting there

The arena is at 240 Elgin St downtown, across the street from the VIA Rail station; downtown is a fair drive north of the Trans-Canada.

Bar scene

Beer is sold inside to fans 19 and over (ID checked if you look 30 or under), and Section 9 is the alcohol-free family section. A bronze Stompin' Tom Connors statue greets fans out front.

Insider tips

• Concession stands are cashless (cards only); an ATM is by the Minto/Brady doors.
• No backpacks, duffle bags or bags over 12x12x6 in.; strollers aren't allowed either.
• Doors typically open 1 hour before puck drop, and there's no re-entry.
• The building is peanut-free, and outside food isn't allowed.
• Pucks shot into the stands are yours to keep.
